At the end of 2012, in the wake of a wave of evictions triggered by the housing market collapse following the 2007–2010 subprime mortgage crisis, the streets became flooded with abandoned house cats struggling to survive. It was during this heartbreaking time that the story of Change One Life Cat Sanctuary began.
