Oliver hospitalized

Oliver has been hospitalized

Oliver has been hospitalized in a critical condition. On Sunday, we had to rush Oliver to the emergency vet. Blood work and urine test were run. High levels of glucose and ketone bodies were found. He’s been diagnosed with diabetes however further test are needed to confirm the diagnosis; we’ll get the results tomorrow. Oliver will continue to be hospitalized until further notice; treatment involves IV fluids, ear-stick glucose tests and intensive insulin therapy to minimize complications. While we’re still grieving the loss of Bono, we have to deal again with the critical condition of another rescue. The enormous emotional burden along with the Sanctuary’s poor financial status render our current situation truly overwhelming.
