Happy 12th Birthday Angel!
Today we celebrate our beautiful boy Angel, who officially turns 12 years old!
Angel’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Rescued in September 2013 at just 5 months old—deaf from birth and abandoned—he had a very difficult start.
His deafness caused confusion, frustration, and behavioral issues, and because of that, nobody wanted to adopt him.

At that time, we didn’t even have a cat sanctuary—we only fed feral/stray cats in our neighborhood and had rescued and adopted out a few.
But Angel made us realize something life-changing: there needed to be a safe haven for cats like him, the ones people overlook because they are chronically or terminally ill, disabled, or have special needs.

Angel was the reason we started our cat sanctuary💖
It wasn’t easy for him to settle in. Angel was very territorial, not a fan of other cats, and for a time we even had to keep him isolated.
But then came Gigi (now 15) —rescued just a couple of months after Angel. Somehow, she was the one cat he opened his heart to.
For the past 12 years, Angel and Gigi have been inseparable, proving that even the toughest souls can find their perfect companion. 🐾💕

Angel’s resilience has been incredible.
Since 2020, he’s faced serious health battles, and in 2022 he was diagnosed with chronic Caudal Stomatitis. Despite years of medication and ongoing struggles, he’s still going strong at 12😽🎂

And while Angel isn’t interested in making feline friends (other than his beloved Gigi) his love for humans is endless.
He’s a true cuddle bug with a very special bond with Paul, and the two share a connection that melts our hearts❤️

To celebrate this milestone, we’re sharing a Before & After of Angel and Paul (2013→ 2025).

From an abandoned deaf kitten that no one wanted, to the beloved heart and soul who inspired the creation of our cat sanctuary—Angel’s story is a reminder of why we do what we do

✨ Happy Birthday, Angel! Here’s to many more love-filled days with Paul, and all of us at the sanctuary. ✨
