Feral. Rescued in May 2012. Three-week-old orphaned feral kitten found along with his mama and sister at a farm.
RESCUE STORY
Although we didn’t rescue Vito ourselves, he was the one who got the ball rolling for us.
Back then, we had started to feed stray cats, we made donations to local cat charities, and we wanted to take action to help homeless cats further, but we didn’t know where to start.
We then met a local cat rescue group who had just rescued a few feral kittens at a farm.

Some were orphaned kittens who needed foster homes to be bottle fed until they could eat on their own and a few others were rescued along with their nursing mama cat and would soon be needing forever homes.

Vito was among the lucky ones who was rescued along with his mom and sister; the two kittens were just a few weeks old when they were found.

The kittens were fostered with their mama until they could eat on their own and then the three of them became available for adoption.

We officially adopted Vito in May 2012 at a local shelter when he was only 8 weeks old and he was introduced to our senior resident cat Tommy (11) who had been rescued as an orphaned kitten as well, in 2001.

Despite the age gap, Vito and Tommy became best pals in no time!
UPDATE 2023
Vito is now 11 years old and has lived in the Sanctuary his whole life. So far, he’s never had any major health issues and leads a very happy life. A few days after Tommy crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2015, Vito was introduced to our new rescue TJ who was an orphaned kitten; Vito helped us raise the newcomer and they became inseparable ever since.
