Angel hospitalized again

Exactly three months after being released from the veterinary hospital, this morning we had to rush Angel back to the emergency vet, where he has once again been hospitalized and placed on IV fluids.

This was completely unexpected, as Angel had not been vomiting and actually maintained quite a healthy appetite. However, over the last couple of days we noticed something was “off” in his behavior, and he had also started showing stiffness in his back legs.

The fact that he did not present the usual gastrointestinal symptoms fooled us, but the vet explained that renal failure can sometimes also manifest through neurological problems — which appears to be the case now.Our hearts are shattered. The joy of Vinny testing negative for leukemia and finally being able to join the rest of the gang in CATROOM 2 ( including Angel) was heartbreakingly short-lived.

Angel’s creatinine levels are now off the charts at 8.6, and his blood pressure numbers are very high too. We are once again sick with worry over our sweet boy and whether or not he will make it back home this time.
