RIP Minnie

Minnie lost her battle to leukemia

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our sweet Minnie. Her fragile little body began to collapse around noon and we rushed her to the vets but sadly there was nothing else we could do to help her. Minnie crossed the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon around 3pm. Paul and I were kissing her, hugging her and making her feel loved until the very last minute of her short life, she was only 1 and a half year old. Minnie was sweet and loving in her very own fashion. She conquered everyone’s heart as soon as as she arrived to the Sanctuary; she brought love and light to all the other FeLV+ rescues in Cat Room 3.

Tonight, our Sanctuary looks empty and gloomy without our sweet little Minnie girl running around and climbing up their cat tree. Her room-mates are just lost without her. No words can quite express how special and adorable she was. This loss has been absolutely unexpected and devastating. We can only find some kind of comfort in knowing that she found at our Sanctuary a real loving home where she lived a life full of love and tender care. We decided to have her cremated to keep her ashes with us here.

Our deepest gratitude to all of you who sent loving thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time, to those who also made kind donations towards her vet care and a very special thank you to her sponsors Sara Cambreleng Jeanette Fourie and Krista Stafford.

RIP baby girl. You’ll live in our hearts forver.
