Mimi diagnosed with stage 2 CKD
Our 9-year-old Mimi went to the vet today after not feeling like herself. The tests so far show some concerning results:
- Her creatinine levels are elevated (1.9), which could indicate stage 2 CKD (chronic kidney disease).
- She also has an idiopathic high fever, meaning the cause isn’t clear yet — one possibility is a UTI.
- A urine sample for urinalysis couldn’t be taken today, so it’s been postponed until Tuesday, 10/7.
- Additional tests, including blood pressure readings and an abdominal ultrasound, are also pending.

For now, Mimi is starting on a special renal diet. Once all the tests are completed, the vet will decide on the best treatment plan and any needed medication.

Mimi has always been such a strong, healthy girl — even during our cat flu outbreak, she was one of the least affected. 💕 That’s why it hurts to see her struggle now, and we want to make sure she gets the very best care.
🙏 We’re asking for your support:
We’re on a shoestring budget, and we need help both to cover Mimi’s vet bills and to afford her special diet. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
