Calicivirus widespread in Catroom 1

Our worst fear came true! Only 48 hrs after taking Vito to the emergency vet, the Calicivirus has quickly spread and now we have a cat room full of sick kitties

Kitty, Suzie and Mimi are the ones with cat flu symptoms.

Cheeky and Frankie do not have symptoms and the vet suspects they might be the carriers of the virus since they are our latest rescues and in the 12 years we’ve been running our cat sanctuary, we’ve never had a situation like this.

So far, the cats in cat room 2 (Gigi, Angel and Chloé) don’t have any symptoms either.

Blackberry Melody is still recovering from Pneumonia and Vito continues fighting Laryngitis/Esophagitis.

UPDATE NOV. 30th, 2024

We have 3 senior cats (Kitty, Vito and, Blackberry Melody) and 1 adult cat (Suzie) with severe sypmtoms of Calicivirus/Cat flu and one more adult cat (Mimi) with mild symptoms.

Blackberry Melody is fighting Pneumonia and Vito Laryngitis/Esophagitis; they are both on antibiotics and other meds; they will have to go back for a follow-up visit this upcoming week.

All the others can only beat this aggresive virus by keeping a strong immune system, so we need to help them by providing optimal nutrition and hydration, vitamin and probiotics supplements.

We are rapidly RUNNING OUT of these supplemens, can YOU help?
