Mimi still fighting Calicivirus
Today marked our first vet visit of the year, and it was for sweet Mimi. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to fight the Calicivirus completely on her own, and a secondary respiratory infection set in.

The good news is that Mimi has now started a seven-day course of antibiotics and was prescribed Doxycycline to treat the respiratory infection. We are also continuing to apply eye drops to help reduce the swelling and treat the infection in her affected eye.
Mimi has lost a significant amount of weight, as she was unable to eat on her own for almost a week. During that time, she survived on liquid food, hydration support, and small amounts of nourishment that we were able to syringe-feed her. While she’s still weak, we’re hopeful that with medication, nutrition, and rest, she’ll slowly regain her strength.

A very special thank you to Sara Cambreleng and Marie Trenor, who became the first two supporters to donate toward our 2026 vet care fund.
Your support helps us continue providing medical care, comfort, and hope to the many cats who depend on us every single day. 🐾💛 If you wish to chip in toward our January Vet Care Fundraiser, please CLICK HERE
