Gigi, Angel and Chloé moved to a new catroom!

After a couple of months figuring out how to re-arrange our small place to make more room for all the resident cats at the sanctuary, thanks to Paul’s hard work, last weekend, we could finally make it happen!

Rescues Gigi, Chloé and Angel moved to their new catroom in the attic storey. Thankfully, the transition has been stress-free for them and after just a few hours they were already enjoying their new cozy room.

Although the day they moved in was cold and rainy, the morning after they could lay out and soak up the sun 🌞in the adjacent outdoor area and they just loved it!

Many of you who are new to our page, and don’t know much about the story of our Sanctuary, probably wonder why Gigi, Chloé and Angel live in a separate catroom.

Here’s the story…

They used to be part of a larger group of cats that were rescued between 2013 and 2016. Gigi, Angel, Salem, Oliver, Rocco and Chloé lived in Catroom 2 …

… while FeLV+ rescues Minnie, Jasmine, Gipsy, Bella and Maya lived in Catroom 3, at the Sanctuary.

Between 2016 and 2017, we lost two FeLV+ rescues. Minnie lost her battle with Leukemia and six months later, Jasmine succumbed to Multicentric Lymphoma.

In 2018, Oliver was diagnosed with diabetes and he needed medical care 24/7 so we had him join the group of rescues who lived with us (Catroom 1).

That same year, we lost another FeLV+ rescue; Gipsy lost his battle with leukemia in November 2018.

In 2019, we lost Rocco to kidney failure and in 2021, Bella and Maya, the only two FeLV+ rescues we had left, crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Then in 2022, we had to say goodbye to the place that was our sanctuary for 8+ years so Salem, Chloè, Gigi, and Angel had to be relocated. Later that year, we lost Salem to lung cancer.

So, today Chloé 9, Angel 11 and Gigi 14 are the only survivors of that large group of rescues that used to live in our former Sanctuary.

After 8 years of living apart it’d be too stressing for them (and for us as well!) to introduce them to the other rescues so they now live happily in their very own room up in the attic storey.
