The power of small things

Dear friends and supporters,

I’m writing to you this time, first of all, to thank everyone who has ever signed up for a monthly sponsorship subscription, and I also want to take this opportunity to explain why supporting us with recurring donations is so very important for us although these small donations may seem so insignificant.

In the picture below, you can see all the food we bought last month using the funds raised through our ‘Sponsor me’ Program. Thanks to all these small five-dollar monthly contributions, we can order weekly almost everything we need to cover our rescues’ basic dietary needs and feed our ferals too.

Food bought thanks to our sponsors’ recurring donations.

A five-dollar sponsorship is symbolically like you treat a friend to a Starbucks’ cup of coffee a month, something that is affordable for almost anyone.

So then, why do we have such few sponsors if we have so many followers?

Often times, the main reason is that people mistakenly think …

“What’s the point of donating such a small amount to a cause that needs thousands of dollars to keep going? It’s pointless really!” or “I feel bad for giving only 5 dollars a month, so I’d rather wait until I can afford to give a bit more.”

Paul with diebetic rescue Oliver who has special dietary needs.

Unfortunately, the expected affordability never arrives and the “giving a bit more” never happens. Meanwhile, months go by and those “only 5 dollars” that seemed so insignificant then, could have materialized into so much help without even making a noticeable difference in your life, just maybe skipping a Frappuccino a month!

Treat us to a cup of coffee and make a difference!

To those who ever had that kind of thoughts and in consequence didn’t sign up for a monthly sponsorship to help us out, I say:

An image is worth a thousand words! so just look at the pictures of all the food we could buy for our rescues last month, and you’ll see “the real value of only five dollars a month”.

Thanks to our sponsors, we can buy high quality food and prescription diets.

Throughout the eleven years that we have been fighting for and helping abandoned and neglected animals, we’ve had quite a lot of supporters who eventually decided to sponsor one or more rescues but then cancelled their monthly subscription after a while; losing them affected us greatly.

Needless to say, we fully respect our supporters’ decision to leave and thank them for the support given but I know that in fact the very same reason behind not subscribing goes for many of those who cancel their monthly sponsorship subscription.

I mean, they must probably think: “Cancelling my five-dollar recurring payment won’t affect them all that much.”

To those who think that way, I say please don’t! Look at the pictures here and know that your 5 dollars a month are worth hundreds of dollars for us.

It is so important that you understand that even though 5 dollars is an insignificant amount for the monthly finances of an ordinary person, amazingly, for caregivers like us who have so many mouths to feed, in and outside the sanctuary it’s quite life changing.

Monthly recurring donations can also help us feed small feral cat colonies.

Don’t you think it’s well worth it skipping a coffee a month to help rescue animals that were once upon a time abandoned and neglected or feral cats that have no reliable source of food, and on top of that, feeling you’re making a difference and contributing to a better world?

The ball’s now in your court.

Now that you know how important and significant your 5 dollars are and if you believe it is well worth it becoming a sponsor, sign up to sponsor a rescue – or – sign up to feed a feral.

To all our current sponsors, I say…

THANK YOU for understanding the power of small things!

You’re the creators of the abundance our rescues and ferals benefit from.

Take care now,

Paul
