Very important news about our cat sanctuary
Dear supporters and friends,
Many things have happened over the last couple of months, but due to the endless tasks we have at the sanctuary and the struggle we face every day trying to stay alive, I haven’t had the time to write an update.
The unexpected addition of two new rescues (Cheeky and Frankie) made life in our already crowded place unsustainable so we had to revamp the small room in the attic storey where our dear Negrita lived for 10+ years and cat-proof its outdoor area to make more room for rescues Gigi, Angel and Chloè. They’ll be moving upstairs so we can gain some room for us and the other rescues.

On the other hand, the ongoing eviction process we’re up against continues as expected.
We have been informed that the lawsuit against us has been filed and brought before the court which means the countdown is on.
Jackie and I, as well as all our rescues, are sitting on a time bomb.
Believe me when I say that what we are going through is a living nightmare, hell on earth. Every day we wake up praying nobody comes knocking on our door to kick us out.
Picturing us all homeless is a feeling I can’t describe.
But I won’t extend myself now because I’ll be telling you more ‘in person’.
For the first time in eleven years, I’m filming a personal video in which I will be telling you more detailed information.

After more than a decade communicating in writing with our supporters, we have realized that using videos to get our message across is called for, even though we deem it rather complicated because it is not our nature. Jackie and I are extremely reserved people who would rather work in the shadows when we help others and keep a low profile, but times have changed, and due to our current desperate situation and mainly for the sake of our rescues, we ought to give it a try.
Social networks like Facebook were the only means of reaching our supporters and more people; however, it’s been two years since they stopped working like they used to.
So now, our story no longer reaches our audience, much less anyone else!
Which means we have no chances of getting the financial support we need; these days we solely rely on the generosity of the few long-time supporters and sponsors who follow up on our updates and to whom we are immensely grateful.

What I want to ask you is to please help us share our Facebook posts far and wide! Also, more reactions and comments (even emoji comments!) can help us reach a wider audience, and the same goes for Instagram.
We have a NEW YouTube Channel, so I ask you to please subscribe to it ‘cos this could also help us spread the word about the story of our cat sanctuary and our current situation,
hoping we can be seen by someone with a generous heart who has the means and is willing to help us climb out of this pit, once and for all, somehow.

Last but most certainly not least, we’re striving to get the funds needed to pay off January and February rent.
Since the beginning of 2024, Jackie and I have not been able to do any of the online work we usually do to generate some small income that can help us make ends meet and that’s the reason why we are behind on the rent.
I’ve been actively job hunting and although I’m willing to do almost anything (if it allows me some hours off to continue with my tasks at the sanctuary) due to my older age and the fact that I have no acquaintances who can help me land a job, so far I haven’t found anything. Sadly, that’s how the world works!
We’ll be so grateful if you could donate any amount, however small, towards our rent fund to help us carry on and pay off the rent due.
I’ll be in touch soon when my first video is ready. Thanks for reading me and a big hug for everyone,
Paul
