Angel’s metabolic system kept crashing

After 24 hours of round-the-clock intensive care — going through absolute hell as Angel’s metabolic system kept crashing and made us fear the worst — our minds simply could not accept that we might have to face the most heartbreaking decision.

For five days, despite laxatives, he still could not poop… We tried everything and left no stone unturned to help him go: syringe-feeding water with probiotics, recovery drinks, and feeding him soft recovery food every 2 hours — all night long!!!

And then… this morning, a large, extremely dry piece of stool — hard as a rock — came out!!!!!!! Minutes later, the rest followed, bringing him a relief that is impossible to describe.

His little face lit up… our sweet, loving, playful Angel was finally back!! Today, although he is still noticeably weary, so far there has been no vomiting and no crashes.

His new nickname is Gladiator ‘cos he truly fought like one!!!!

Angel is still being monitored closely 24/7, but for the first time we truly feel we are on the right path.

We are hoping those terrifying off-the-charts creatinine and BUN levels were the result of that severe blockage, and that his next biochemistry in three weeks will show a significant decrease.
