Without health there’s nothing

Vito taking care of Paul when he was sick

Dear supporters and friends,

Here I’m writing a brief newsletter to reach out to you and ask for a little help.

As you all know, last month we were informed that we’ll definitely have to leave the place that has been our home for the past 15 years.

Expectedly, all the stress and the pressure we’ve been under have taken a toll on our health, and as we close this final chapter, Jackie and I have both fallen sick.

Personally, I have borne the brunt of it all. I was bedridden for a couple of weeks, and I haven’t made a full recovery yet.

Feeling so sick stopped me from doing the things that I regularly do to get a small income that, along with your donations, help us afford the increasing monthly expenses of the sanctuary.

We’ve scheduled long due vet appointments for Angel, Gigi and Molly, cases that require urgent attention, but we find ourselves without the funds needed to pay for their vet checkups and lab tests.

The most urgent case is Angel’s. We see worsening of symptoms associated with his Stomatitis, more frequent flare-ups that meds don’t seem alleviate anymore, and a subtle deterioration of his overall health.

A complete bloodwork to check on his kidney and liver function is due. Angel’s vet checkup is this upcoming Monday, February 17.

I’d be deeply grateful, if you could chip in a little something to help us cover vet expenses.

Without health there is nothing, there’s no way to keep up this fight, so right now the most important thing is getting my strength back to carry on, hoping and praying for better times ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to read me.

Paul
