Angel diagnosed with stage 1 CKD

Bloodwork results have confirmed what we suspected; his blood creatinine levels are slightly elevated (1.7) which indicates he is now at the first stage of kidney disease.

On a more positive note, Angel has gained some weight since his previous checkup!

The use of strong medications to treat his Caudal Stomatitis, for almost five years now, have damaged his kidneys. The fact that he’s already in his senior years and cannot come off his medications makes it all particularly more concerning.

High blood creatinine levels (1.7) indicate stage 1 CKD.

Although CKD is incurable, thankfully the early detection will help us start treating his condition right away by changing his diet (more wet food) and by giving him omega3 supplements to protect his kidneys and hopefully slow down their deterioration.

We want to express our deepest gratiude to everyone who chipped in so we could afford Angel’s checkup and lab tests which have been crucial in order to detect this disease at an early stage.

God bless you all ❤🙏
