Eviction court order
Dear friends and supporters,
Finally, our court case possession hearing took place and the judge issued an order.
Regretfully, our request for a low-income family social rent agreement with the new owners has been dismissed and we ought to move out so that the current owner (vulture fund) can take possession of their property.
The only part of the ruling that can be considered in our favor is that the judge has recognized the validity of our former rental contract, therefore we are allowed to stay in our place until the contract expiration date on November 30, 2025.
On December 1, we must move out and hand the keys to the current owners.

We are well aware that due to our lack of financial means, renting a new place or buying a house is way out of our league, so the odds are that by the end of 2025 we’ll end up on the streets all the same, but at least we’ll be able to survive a bit longer.
When one fights for survival, like we’ve been doing for so long, one has a different perspective on life and learns to value even the little achievements.
Maybe a last-minute miracle could still happen. Perhaps our story touches the heart of a generous wealthy person out there who can save us, and that’s what to God we pray.
So, despite losing our case, having 10 months to move out feels like a little achievement somehow, and it is all thanks to YOU! Every donation you made towards our legal battle fundraisers allowed us to get the necessary funds to pay the lawyer who helped us keep up the fight, otherwise we would have been homeless by now.
Jackie and I are and will always be grateful to everyone who has helped us up to this point.
Also, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our top contributors who have literally saved our lives with their incredibly generous donations.

We are now exhausted and overwhelmed, such appalling news hit us hard, and we need some time to think about what to do next.
Our top priority is right now to try to stay in good health, both physical and mental. Jackie and I are in a pitiful state due to the continued stress and the endless battles we’ve had to fight not to end up on the streets.
We’ll be sending out a new update as soon as we can see more clearly what to do next.
Once again, thanks everyone for believing in us and supporting the difficult cause of helping animals.
God Bless,
Paul
